Look how happy these people are.. I can tell you exactly why they're happy, just look at them! They are two, fit, in-shape people. And alot of people might say that being skinny doesn't nescessarily mean being happy, but, I'll tell you what does make feel good and that is quite simple in logic..
Getting into a healthy routine of eating right and exercising in a regular manner.
It's a wonderful thing to be able to push yourself to work hard to accomplish a healthy goal. Sure, it might not seem healthy the first couple of weeks when you are struggling for breath on the treadmill (or your cardio machine of choice) but, I know I have definately seen a difference in my stamina while running in my P.E. class.
I can definately tell you it is not as simple as it seems. Getting yourself to eat right during the day is no easy task. With a fast food place on every corner here in America.. it's hard not to stop sometimes to grab our favorite fattening treat, but I chose some healthy alternatives. While at the mall I opted for Subway instead of my favorite food, Chinese. Subway isn't the healthiest either but, it was the best thing I could have eaten at the mall at that time. To take care of my Chinese food cravings, I head over to Jewel and pick up some Lean Cusine. I know many of you wouldn't jump at the chance to eat a frozen, low-fat dinner but, it's all in your head. You can program your brain to crave different foods and if not crave then atleast your brain can enjoy things that are less fattening for you.
Food is not the only part, of course everyone is going to have to throw in a little exercise. More than likely, ALOT of exercising. The experts recommend an average of anywhere from 3 - 5 days of working out. I, on the other hand always have to push it that extra mile (atleast when it comes to exercising) and I haul my butt down to the gym 7 days a week. I am doing this because I want quicker results for the purposes of being thinner for prom. No one wants to go to their prom feeling bad about themselves.
The problem with weightloss in America is that in order to loose the weight and keep it off it has to be a lifestyle change. And both elements of working out and watching what you eat are a must have in the weightloss process. Though I haven't seen much difference on the scale, number-wise my Mother, in particular can see a difference in my physical self. I hope to loose a whole lot more than what I have lost, but when it comes down to it, it's going to take alot of time and committment.
I want to encourage people, it is possible. And when you reach for that doughnut or whatecer sweet you are craving, ask yourself this question, "Am I going to be happier in ten minutes if I eat this?"

It's that time of year..
